Detailed Itinerary

Arrival

Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro international Airport, you will be picked by the company guide .After meeting and greeting, you will drive to Arusha town. This is a 45 minutes’ drive from the airport to the town. You will then have a short briefing about the whole trip.

Day 1: Drive to Arusha National park

Today drive to Arusha National Park and have a half day game drive. This park is predominantly harbors forest animals while in the northern park, there are savannah animals. This place is also the best for spotting the black and white colobus monkeys as well as the bush back .you will also photograph the larger spices with Mt Meru and Mt Kilimanjaro in the back ground. You will then drive back to the inn for lunch. Immediately after lunch, we shall drive west on a good tarmac road and cross gently the rolling masai plains with the acacia trees, you will pass by the masai villages as well as the masai in their colorful traditional dress moving on the road side, herding their cattle, riding their bicycles,   and driving their overloaded donkeys. Get to the gate of the Moromboi tented camp.

Day 2: Drive to Tarangire National Park

Have breakfast at the lodge and then drive to Tarangire National park and enjoy game viewing , we also recommend that you carry lunch with you and spend the whole day game viewing from morning to afternoon, you will spend time driving from the camp to the gate. This national park has got good sightings of the elephants, leopards, lions, impalas and this park can be visited best from July to October.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Manyara National park

This is best for the pink flamingos and the baboon troops, have breakfast and after drive to Manyara NP to enjoy game viewing with a picnic lunch. This park is so good for bird watching since it has got over 450 species that are recorded and the big flocks of pink flamingos. You will also view some elephants, giraffes, Lake Buffalos, baboons, wildebeests as well as the tree climbing lions.

Day 4: Explore Lake Manyara NP

You will start your drive by morning and head into the thick ground water forest of the lake. From here, you will proceed towards the lake as you follow the Simba River to the hippo pools. This drive will take you back through the ground water forest and to the park gate. Immediately after the gate drive, drive back to the camp.

Day 5: enjoy the plantation of bananas and beer.

Have breakfast and then after drive to the western direction on a good tarmac road, crossing the gently rolling plains of the masai with the scattered acacia trees and pass by the masai villages as well as the masai in their traditional dresses as they walk alongside the road side as they ride bicycles, herding the cattle and also drive the overloaded donkeys carts. There is also a small town of Mto wa Mbu which represents all the 20 tribes that are found in Tanzania. The walk will as well take you through the rice fields, the banana farms as well as the Makonde carving where you will get your ebony wood carving, and end with a visit to the local beer brew area. Have a local lunch.

Immediately after your lunch, you will drive south of the Ngorongoro conservation area and there is the largest Tanzania soda lake. This remote region is visited by many travelers and is also home to the Hadzabe Bushmen as well as the Datoga tribe. You will have a chance to take much pictures of this tribe than in the most tourist areas. The Hadzabe Bushmen are known to be traditional gatherers who also speak the language similar to the Bushmen men of South Africa. These men hunt early in the morning and again in the afternoon with an arrow and a bow. The poison arrow is also used for the larger animals and the non-poisonous one is used for the small birds and animals. The women also gather wild fruits, tubers as well as the roots.

Later in the afternoon, we shall have a walk along the sod lake for some flamingo watching.

Day 6: Enjoy an exciting hunting day

You will leave the camp early in the morning with a local guide and also find one of their camps and join them for hunting, this is an exciting cultural experience that you will enjoy in Africa. After enjoying the hunting safari, you will go back to your camp and try the arrowing session by having target shooting with them and after drive to the blacksmith village to view how they make their arrow from the Datonga tribe as well as how the two tribes interact,go back to the camp for lunch , you will then leave Eyasi and go to the Karat dinner and overnight at Bougain villea Lodge.

Day 7: Proceed to Serengeti National Park

Have breakfast and also have a picnic lunch and after drive across the gentle rolling Ngorongoro highlands and also pass zebras and the wildebeests that graze with the Masai cattle as the young boys tend them and the Masai villages. We shall stop at the bomas and have fun and enjoy their culture as we visit their kindergarten and in case you have some school supplies, you will give to them. After, continue to Serengeti National and have a stopover at the Nabi gate for your lunch as well as paper work. Later in the afternoon, we will be having a game drive with in central Serengeti where we have great views of lions, giraffes, hippos, reedbucks, leopards, as well as elephants.

Day 8: The big cat safari

You will leave the camp so early in the morning and start looking for the big lion prides that are found with in the central part which is the Seronera valley and it’s the best place for the lions with in Africa. This area has also got many sightings of the leopards, topis, jackals, gazelles, and the cheetahs especially in the dry season. Have lunch at the camp and in the afternoon, we will drive around the seronera River that will provide you sightings like the elephants, hippos, birds, baboons, and many more.

Day 9: Explore Serengeti & drive to Ngorongoro crater

Have breakfast and then enjoy a short morning game drive in the outer parts of the central Serengeti and look for the cats and also hunt for the predators along the serenara valley. These plains also offer a great opportunity to hunt the cheetah and the pick calving of the Thomson gazelles which are their main prey. Serengeti is also dry at the time of the year and also makes these holes for hunting the leopards and the lions, the other sightings include; the elephants, buffalos, hippos, serval cats and giraffes.

Day 10: explore the crater area & departure

Have yourself an early morning breakfast and then leave the lodge and continue going down to the enjoy the eighth wonder of the world and possibly the largest permanent concentration of the wildlife in Africa. There are many animals including; over 30,000 large mammals as well as the black rhinos. The other great sightings include; the hyenas, hippos, jackals, elephants, zebras, wildebeests, immediately after lunch, drive back to Arusha and be dropped at the Airport for your flight to Zanzibar.
